International Women’s Day, as defined by the United Nations, is a day to recognize “the achievements of all women, regardless of national, ethnic, linguistic, cultural, economic, or political divisions.” It is a day meant to encourage “reflection on the progress made in the field of women’s rights.” Established in 1975, it serves as a reminder of the ongoing efforts toward gender equality.
