The studio’s program draws on the traditions of the Dadaists and conceptual art, artists such as Sol LeWitt, Ed Ruscha and Barbara Kruger, who were among the first to use text and books as a medium of art. Students focus on the study of language and text as a space of for artistic practice. They learn about issues related to visual text in its broadest sense. An important aspect of the educational process is the reflection on language, its relation to the world, its possibilities of naming and even redefining reality. The studio has an intermedia character being at the interface of disciplines related to linguistics and visual arts.
